Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist who currently competing with the UFC flyweight division. She is the elder sister of another fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's combat sport career started out in the form of an Muay Thai competitor. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and later defeated Suzane Mller by unanimous vote. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007 and a medal of bronze in 2008, and she won a gold medal in the year 2011. Antonina was also named IFMA Amateur Muaythai World Champ in 2016. Antonia's professional career began in 2003. In 2012, she took home an event called the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, she took home the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina fought Isa Tidblad Keskikangas in her final fight at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by unanimous vote. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut was in 2002 at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She took home the second-round TKO fight. She also won the following two fights during the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. She was able to record her having a record of 3-0. Shevchenko had a brief break from MMA and focused on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko beat Anissa by unanimous decision, after which she beat Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She left the club and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko was a fighter against Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina utilized her striking ability and striking skills to TKO Nievera in the clinch through knees that hit the body. After this win, Antonina was able to sign an UFC contract. Antonina received the UFC contract after her win. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi in a split-decision fight after winning the first fight via unanimous decision. Antonina recovered from her loss to defeat Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke, and was awarded the fight of the night reward in the fight. Shevchenko was a 1-2 winner in her next 3-fights, defeating Ariane Lipski before losing to Katlyn Chookagian as well as Andrea Lee.
