Aurora

Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. Her birthplace was in Stavanger on June 15th, 1996. She is professionally referred to as Aurora. Her name could be also stylized as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was recorded for an ad campaign for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is an Nat King Cole cover. Katy Perry shared a tweet in which Perry made a splash with her track Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' first musical memories involve finding a tiny piano in her basement and bewildered by the sound it produced. Her parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a profession or a pastime, but as a way to develop. For this reason she started writing her own original compositions. Her influences include renowned writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love of Bjork's style. The singer decided to perform her music in public when her mother suggested that they could help people not gain acclaim for her music, but rather to help the people around them understand their importance and the ways they impact the world. She began playing the piano at the age of six, and began writing music at age nine. Her family didn't have any idea until she was fourteen. Aurora wasn't a dream. Her sole passion is to write music. She claims that music is her preferred method of feeling anything.
